Surprise! A Podcast!

So there was a reason why I had started the Ravelry group for this blog, it was to dip my toes into the idea of starting my own podcast! So please check it out and tell me what you think. :) If you have any questions about anything I talked about today, please contact me.
This is my response to Aplayfulday's Love Your Blog challenge. If it wasn't for the interactions and community that I found through podcasts and blogs I wouldn't have been brave enough to start my own podcast. Please check out her post about the challenge and join in!

But I'll stop typing now and let you watch the podcast! :)

I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know what you think, join the Ravelry group.

Happy crafting and reading!

Blogs that inspires you.

The blogs I love to follow had actually inspired me to start my own blog and some other things in my life. :)
And those blogs are: the Yarn Harlot (Stephanie Pearl-McPhee), Voolenvine (Yarngasm podcast), aplayfulday (she also has a podcast as well), Subway Knits (podcast with the same name), and the Disney Parks blog. They are the ones that I keep up with the most and the ones I'm always excited to read what they have to say.

Are there any blogs that inspire you?

WIP Wednesday

So let's get back to some WIP Wednesday post shall we? Ever since the last WIP Wednesday I've been working on the very late birthday present for my mom.

Designer: Marly Bird
Yarn: Knit Picks Palette in the Sky colorway.
Hook size: F/5-3.75mm
My project page is here.

I love the way this is working up, but I'm SO ready to finish this and mail it off to her. I'm getting close to finishing, I have very little of the current ball of yarn and I have one full ball left. Then of course I have to block it.

I do have many other WIPs, but they haven't had any love in a while. Once I'm finished with this shawl I'll be posting more about the others. I haven't gave up on them yet!

The only other thing that has had my attention is the book I'm currently reading, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. I've seen it on Goodreads a while ago and read that it had gotten some good reviews. So when I seen it at the local used bookstore I had to get it. I'm loving it so far, I definitely thinking that this is going to be a favorite that I pick up again and again. I'll share with you my favorite quote from the book, who knows maybe it's enough to get you to read it. ;)
"That's what I love about reading: one tiny thing will interest you in a book, and that tiny thing will lead you onto another book, and another bit there will lead you onto a third book. It's geometrically progressive--all with no end in sight, and for no other reason that sheer enjoyment."

Memory Monday and Some Exciting News.

At the Marina in Downtown PC.

I know that it's been a spotty couple of weeks for the blog, but I have some exciting ideas and you might hear about them soon. But for the news I have today is that the blog has a Ravelry group now! So go join and introduce yourself, I can't wait to get to know the people who think I'm exciting enough to read my blabbing about yarn and other stuff. Just search for The Yarn Reader Blog (or click on the link) and you'll find the group. :)

I hope you have a Happy Monday and a great week!

Year of Handmade: Prompt 5

What is your favorite thing that you have ever made?

The first thing that comes to mind is my Molly hat. I made it out of Voolenvine's Yarns discontinued yarn base McGuinnes Worested in her Myth colorway. I just love the way that it knitted up.
And I'm not quite finished with spinning it up yet but I love what I have, it's my Spun Right Round bamboo fiber.

What is your favorite thing you made?
