Movie Review: Space Jam

Yes, I'm doing a review on a 90s movie. This was a movie that I watched many times when I was a kid, my family has it on VHS and we just got it on Blue-ray not to long ago. It's a super fun movie and I wish there were more like it out there. Even though I'm not into basketball I really enjoyed the big game scene. And it has the Looney Toons in this movie, how can you not watch it? :P

I'm glad we picked up a copy and I can definitely see me watching this with my future kids.

Year of Handmade: Prompt 12

12. What craft would you like to get into?

I mentioned it briefly in the last year of handmade post but I would really like to get into sewing. I see a lot of post about sewing and listen to some podcasters talk about their projects and how they are learning it just makes me really want to get into it myself. Hopefully in the near future it will happen.

Episode 12: "Yay Tennessee!"

I hope you enjoy this week's episode and that you'll keep an eye out for future blog posts.

The Goddess Legacy by M.W. Muse
Summary from
"Legacy ore is an average seventeen year old girl with your basic insane crush on the hottest guy in school...rather Adin Shepard was the hottest guy in school before he graduated a couple of weeks ago. Now it's summer vacation and she's not sure when she'll see him again. Until he shows up at her surprise seventeenth birthday party. Cue saliva glands--it's time to drool. But her giddiness is cut short when her guardian delivers an emotional blow, telling legacy her mother hadn't died when she was a baby, but that she'd left for Legacy's protection all those years ago. After the initial shock, she expects some story about how her mother was in the Witness Protection Program or something else just as crazy, but when she's told that her mother is a Greek Goddess and that Legacy is changing into one too, she thinks her guardian needs a trip to a mental hospital. Legacy a goddess? Um, yeah. Right. And her BFF is the Easter Bunny. While trying to make sense out of something that was impossible to believe, Adin asks Legacy out on a date. She is thrilled that her fantasy might become a reality, but when she meets the new guy in town, River, she discovers everything isn't always as it seems, and the legacy she wants just might not be the legacy she is destined to have."

WIP Wednesday: June 24, 2015

This week's featured Work in Progress is my Heavy-weight Patchwork Blanket.

When we were in TN I had grabbed the yarn that I had left there and brought them back with me, There were many that had enough to be made into squares for this blanket.
The blanket is big enough for a infant, but it's going to get a lot bigger. I'm loving how it's turning out.

Happy Knitting!

Movie Review: Jurassic World

Image from
Sunday night, Jordan and I went to see the new Jurassic World movie at one of the theaters in town. We loved it. And now it's confession time, I haven't seen any of the other Jurassic Park movies. I've seen bits and pieces of some but I have no idea which movies. (I know, I need to get my hands on the movies.)  But I freaking loved this movie. The story line was easy to follow, it could have been a little better but I'm not complaining about it. The actors were great, Chris Pratt was our favorite, of course, He had some of the best lines in the movie, but his character was pretty much one of the main characters. The effects were amazing, it was hard to believe that the dinosaurs weren't really real. The ending was done really well, it didn't end super quick like a lot of movies these days. It tied everything together really well. And of course, the score of the movie was the best. John Williams is one of the best and one of my favorites

Go see this movie! You won't regret it. (At least, I hope you won't.)

Movie Summary from

"Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitors' interest, which backfires horribly."
I hope if you seen this movie that you enjoyed as much as we did, we are definitely going to see it again but in 3D.

Happy movie watching!

Memory Monday: June 22, 2015

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry for the radio silence last week, but I was in Tennessee visiting my family there. It was great to be back in my home town and spend some time with my family and see some old friends. So this week's picture will be from my trip and I will try to have a few more at the end of the next episode of the podcast.

Max, my sister's cat.
I hope Monday goes smoothly for everyone!

Year of Handmade: Prompt 11

Prompt 11

Is there something you wish you can make?

Things that I would like to make is anything on a sewing machine. I really want to learn how to sew. Like sitting down at my own sewing machine (note to self, buy a sewing machine) and learn how to work that machine and how to sew basic things and eventually sew some clothes for me and my family. I took a beginning sewing class when I worked at Joann's, but I was having such a hard time with the machines there that it just made me frustrated with it. So besides a swift and sewing machine is going to be the next big craft thing I buy.

What would you like to make?

My Of the Moon Shawl is turning out nicely. I'm really enjoying working with my hand spun and I can't wait to knit with more.

I'm currently working on the lace part of the shawl, but it doesn't look like much since it's not blocked. I'm really liking the way it's knitting up.

Happy Knitting!

The Goddess Legacy by M. W. Muse

Selected Fairy Tales by Hans Christan Andersen
(Summery from
"Once upon a time there was a prince who wanted to marry a princess, but she would have to be a real princess...

In a celebration of one of the world's most widely recognized children's authors, this collection brings together some of Hans Christian Andersen's most popular fairy tales with some of his more subversive masterpieces - from 'The Princess and the Pea' and 'The Little Mermaid' to 'The Red Shoes' and 'The Snow Queen'. With universal themes and dark humour at their heart, these tales have delighted readers since their first publication and continue to be much loved today.

Timeless in their appeal, they have inspired many films, ballets and plays, and still inspire and entertain generations of children and adults alike."

Year of Handmade: Prompt 10

I'm a few days late with this post so the month of June will have three of the Year of Handmade posts to catch up.

10. A Crafting Horror Story

Again this is another one where I don't really have a horror story. Just a lot of disappointments while learning new things. One that comes to mind is a hate that I had crocheted that looked like a chef's hat (when it wasn't supposed to look like that). When I first started to crochet I tried to make a hat and it turned out so huge that I just made some straps and turned it into a bag and gave it to my cousin as a birthday present.

What are your Crafting Horror Stories?
