Well, here is another Monday. I hope everyone had a great weekend and that today will be kind to you. I know that we will be dealing with a rainy and dreary day, the joys of living in FL. :P

Have a great week!

Love Your Blog: Week 4

Gratitude (noun): the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.

I feel like that most people these days do not know this word and it's definition. If they do, they only use it during holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. People expect others to act a certain way  or do something for them and get frustrated or even angry when they don't get their way or people that cross their path don't act how they think they should act. We don't show enough gratitude to people for just being themselves. And I, for one out of a million people, am going to try to show more gratitude to those who deserve it, to people who made me feel grateful that they are in my life.

Year of Handmade: Prompt 8

8. Crafting in Public Stories

I don't have many crafting in public stories, only a few. Of course I've had some people ask me how I started knitting whenever I'm knitting in public. I mostly have people ask what I'm working on. I've noticed that older people compliment my projects and people around my age just give me weird looks. (Which is when I return their weird look right back at them.)
The last time I had someone say something about me crafting was when I was drop spindling in a doctor's office waiting room. I noticed a older woman watching me. When she realized that I noticed her watching me she said that couldn't help watching, that it fascinated her. Then she told my that she does a lot of crafts as well. I hope I get more responses like that in the future. :)

What are some of your crafting in public stories?

Memory Monday: April 20, 2015

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Jordan and I went to see the new Cinderella movie yesterday. It was great, even though the acting was kind of cheesy. There were so moment where I kind of rolled my eyes and laughed at so parts but other then that I really enjoyed it. And of course Helena Boham Carter was amazing as the Fairy Godmother, but I love her in anything she's in anyway.

Keep an eye out for a new episode of the podcast soon!

FO Friday: April 17, 2015

I have finally finished my Mary Lennox Mystery Knit-A-Long Shawl! The ends were woven in Wednesday morning and it had it's picture taken then as well. And of course, I had to wear it to work that day. :D

I did make some changes to the end of it, so check my pattern notes on the project page in the link above.
Pattern: Mary Lennox by Kate Poe
Yarn: Gynx Yarns Merino Lace in the Auron colorway.
Needles: US 4- 3.5mm
The rest of the yarn is being knitted double in my Patchwork Blanket. I'm super happy with the shawl. :)

Love Your Blog: Week 3

The word ugly has been used to describe things for years. Most people use the word to describe something they find unattractive about other people or about themselves. But Crafters usually use the word to describe how their first projects look like while they were learning their crafts. I know I had used the word a lot when a project I had been working on did not turn out how I pictured it in my mind.
But ugly is such a negative word. It's been used to put people and things down and has been really hurtful. I woulf like to break the bad habit of using that word. Sure, it's going to be a little difficult to think of a word or words to replace it with but I'm sure if we try to think hard enough we will be able to find a better word or phrase and, hopefully, it will be a lot more positive.

How do you feel about the word and what do you think would be the best replacement for it?

FO Friday: April 10, 2015

This week had been very successful for me. I've finished three projects! And one was even finished this morning. :D

So last Friday or Saturday I finished my mom's shawl. (For those who haven't seen this week's podcast, here it is!)
It's made out of Knit Picks' Palette in the Sky colorway.

I also finished my sister's birthday present on Sunday.
I'm happy that I finished everything for them and they should be mailed out soon.

And the one I had just finished this morning is the second Death Star pillow for our friend!
That will be going to the new owner, hopefully, next week. :)

Love Your Blog: Week 2

Beginnings are always exciting. I always find beginnings inspiring. When we moved to Florida, I was inspired to think of things that I was want to do while I was job searching; like which projects I would like to work on. And when I started this blog, I was super excited about getting my voice out there and being able to talk/write about things that I love and want to tell other people about. Another beginning for me is my podcast. I'm excited to see where it leads me and how it will help me in the future with being able to speak up more in front of people.

I hope you enjoy beginnings as much as I do.

This post is part of Aplayfulday's Love Your Blog challenge. :)

Year of Handmade: Prompt 7

What are you bad crafting habits?

I don't I have a lot of crafting bad habits. The only one that comes to mind is that I don't swatch. I know that I should, but I don't. If I'm not happy with the way something is turning out, I just rip the project out and restart again until I'm happy with it. I don't mind restarting, yeah it gets a little annoying after a while, but that's how I learn from my mistakes. It helps me learn new things in my crafts. So I guess that makes me a process Knitter. :)

What are some of your bad crafting habits?

Memory Monday: April 6, 2015

I bring sad news. We had one of the kittens pass away Saturday. There wasn't anything we could do, Jordan made sure he was comfortable before he passed.
While I was going through my camera after I took some pictures of my projects I found a picture of Rusty (what we decided to call him, we couldn't let him be remember just as "one of the kittens") that I had taken a couple of days before he passed.

So Rest In Peace Rusty, I'm sorry we could see how you would grow up into sweet kitten.

I hope everyone had a much better better weekend then we had, and I hope that you have a great week.
