Book Review: The Outsiders by S.E.Hinton

The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton is about Ponyboy, a 14 year old who is part of a group called the "greasers". This group includes his two brothers, Sodapop and Darrel (Darry), along with four other boys. Ponyboy and one of the group, Johnny end up leaving the town and hiding out in a empty church because Johnny killed a boy who's part of a rival group called the "Socs" short for "Socials". Both boys were beaten up by the boy and his friends one night after Ponyboy and Johnny walked the Socs girlfriends home (the Socs were drinking). While Ponyboy had his head shoved in a park foundation and nearly drowned, Johnny saves him by stabbed the Soc and killing him. The rest of the book seems like a lot of days go by because of all what happens, but it was only a few days. You'll love how the author gives some many details about the characters and you will get attached to them.
This is a book that I had to read in the 7th grade and I have read tons of times ever since.
